CTS chennai crossed 30 years in Marine field in October 2022

CTS has comprehensive ship repair workshop ( 11,127 Sq ft ) in Chennai (Madras) port in Tamil Nadu, South India with office in Moore Street, Chennai city . It was founded in 1992 by late Mr. C.A Choudary, Marine Engineer (DMET College – Calcutta – 1966), – former Chief Engineer, It is currently being run by Mr. Sanjay Choudary – Engineer.

Our ship repair / ship maintenance services are at all Indian ports and we have executed in Bahrain, Srilanka and International waters. We are the second oldest ship repair firm in Chennai port, with facilities to repair multistorey equipment – hoppers , huge grabs ; fabrication of long structures -simultaneous fabrication of two to three 40 ft lasher cages at our workshop. In 3 decades of operations , we have repaired more than 10,000 vessels , barges, tankers , bulk carriers , tug boats.

We have Indian and foreign clients in Private , Government Sectors – Indian Ministry of defence, Indian Navy, Larsen and Toubro , Sical, Wallems. We work in different sectors – Marine , Transportation , Stevedores, Communication , Academic including research, Heavy Industrial Sector especially Power generation – maintenance of power plants.

We established the first fire fighting training academy in South India.

We are ISO 9001:2015 certified by DNV and are approved by DG Shipping (Indian Government) and IRS.

Our People

Our ship maintenance team consists of highly qualified and experienced Marine Engineers (Chief Engineers), Naval architects, class certified welders ( 3G/4G/6G with experience in Hardox , Mild Steel, Aluminium, Stainless Steel) , Fitters, Riggers with 30 years experience in the maritime industry. Our consultation panel consists of experienced Marine Engineers, former Indian Navy Engineers , Naval architects.

We are familiar with ABS,BV, DNV , LLoyds , IRS classes. We use high quality ESAB welding rods and high quality certified steel – IS 2062 standard and have experience with Hardox 450

• Complete re-conditioning of hatch covers/Pontoons (including removal ashore ,blasting , 32 tons of steel work and re-fitting).

• Water proofing of monkey island
